The McCain campaign is currently claiming that 10% of voters remain undecided, and that the majority of these will break for their candidate. As far as I know they have no real numbers to back up this assertion. I mean, by definition "undecided" would seem to indicate that nobody knows how they will vote.
It is exactly the sort of statement one would expect from a campaign that was now in damage control mode, trying to encourage the base to show up tomorrow and vote so that a loss of the Presidency does not cascade down the ticket and affect other races.
It is also exactly the sort of statement that one would expect from a campaign that is seeding the ground for an election result that is six or seven points off from the polls.
