Hey FB, any way you can enable full posts to be visible in RSS? The suspense of that ellipsis is thrilling and all, but I'm lazy and don't want to open another window.
Longtime reader, first time bitcher.
Kthxlvubai!

I hear what you're saying (though tech-geek holy wars make my skin crawl), but unfortunately certain web-based software ONLY works on I.E. Certain business-critical applications in fact. Like Quickbooks online.
So yeah, that sucks.
Posted by David Grenier at December 16, 2008 02:56 PMD.G.: I hear ya. I've worked in offices that only let people use IE. Unfortunately Quickbooks is probably chock-full of the exact kind of information that you probably want to protect. I dunno -- maybe use IE for these applications, Firefox/Safari/Chrome/Opera for everything else?
This is one of the few cases where I'm this much of a partisan, mostly after learning all the instances where I'd have to write a special script or hack to make things appear the same in IE as they do in every other browser. The fact that MS controls enough market share to continue to foist their non-standards-compliant product on the public is extremely frustrating.
Posted by flamingbanjo at December 16, 2008 03:05 PMIE sucks, always has and always will. Firefox might not be perfect, but it's safer than IE.
