"Polishing the pope-hammer" is my new favorite euphamism for everything.

seems like you should be able to work in something about his nationality, too. like, "polishing the Polish pope's silver hammer"... we're moments away from a tongue twister.

hows 'bout:
"putting a Polish polish on the pope-hammer"
does that incorporate it acceptibly?

This has to be the best "hitting the pope in the head with a hammer" blog entry ever. good post.

Plus, it's probably a cardinal sin to strike a living pope with a hammer.

Probably not as big a sin as, like, burying a living pope. Which is obviously what the hammer bonking thing is about.

Sounds to me like you're damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I kid, I kid.
